Each pair of insoles--the box comes with 24 pairs total--is designed to heat up the restricted air environment of a shoe or boot for up to six hours. Not intended for use in open air, the warmers' soft, lightweight pouches contain iron powder, charcoal, salt, water, and vermiculate. Once exposed to air, the insoles will experience a natural exothermic reaction, helping them generate consistent and prolonged heat. It's like having your own personal heating pad for each foot.
Made of soft cloth lined with a very thin layer of porous plastic, the insoles are easy to apply: simply peel back the adhesive backing and press the warmer to the outside of your sock underneath your foot. Because the warmers are ultra-thin, they won't affect the fit of your shoes. And should you open an insole and decide you don't need it, you can save it for later use (preferably within a week) if placed in an airtight container. Unopened, the Heat Factory insoles have a shelf life of three years or more. Odorless and nontoxic, each foot warmer insole measures 5.75 by 3 inches.
