This CeramicSpeed Ceramic Race Coated Bottom Bracket kit is designed for BB30 cranks on BB30 bottom brackets, favored by teams sponsored by Specialized and Cannondale, and triathletes using BB30-equipped time trial and triathlon bikes. The BB30 standard, pioneered by Cannondale, features a 30mm crank spindle within a 42mm bottom bracket shell, offering lighter, stiffer components and new frame design possibilities. The bottom bracket shell serves as bearing cups, with snap rings securing the bearings. The 30mm spindle distinguishes BB30 from contemporary thru-axle spindles, which are 22.5 to 25mm in diameter. This shift was significant, especially when compared to bottom brackets from the year 2000.
